Max Verstappen extends Red Bull contract until 2030

Max Verstappen has officially signed a contract extension with Red Bull Racing, committing to the team until the end of the 2030 Formula 1 season. The announcement was made ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, ending months of speculation regarding his future and potential moves to teams like McLaren or Mercedes.

Verstappen, a four-time World Champion with 71 Grand Prix victories, expressed his satisfaction with the decision, stating that the team feels like a “second family” to him. He emphasized his desire to continue working with the current crew to return to the top of the sport. Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies described the retention of the driver as “fantastic news” for the team and motorsport at large.

While official salary figures were not disclosed, reports suggest the new deal could see Verstappen's annual earnings rise significantly, potentially reaching up to 115 million euros including bonuses. The extension also maintains certain flexibilities for the driver, such as the ability to participate in endurance racing outside of the Formula 1 calendar.
