Max Verstappen eyes Le Mans and endurance racing ambitions
Max Verstappen has expressed interest in pursuing endurance racing, specifically targeting the 24 Hours of Le Mans, as a potential part of his post-Formula 1 career. The Red Bull driver confirmed he has discussed the possibility of competing at Le Mans with Fernando Alonso, noting that Alonso’s extensive experience in endurance racing would make him a strong potential teammate.
Verstappen emphasized that any move into endurance racing or the Hypercar category must be on his own terms, fitting his schedule, and offering a genuine opportunity to win. He recently gained experience in the discipline by participating in the Nürburgring 24 Hours, an event he described as a standout experience due to the intense driving conditions and the pure nature of the motorsport.
While Verstappen has extended his contract with Red Bull until 2030, he remains focused on his long-term ambitions to compete in various endurance events once his Formula 1 career concludes.
