Max Verstappen falls out of F1 title contention at US Grand Prix

Max Verstappen finished third at the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas, a result that officially removes him from the Formula 1 drivers' championship contention. This ends a streak of 2,184 days during which the Dutchman had remained in the title race, a run dating back to 2020.

Verstappen expressed significant frustration regarding Red Bull Racing's tactical decisions during the race. Despite starting from second on the grid, he criticized the team for deviating from the pre-race strategy. Specifically, he noted that the team opted for a soft tire compound for his second stint instead of the agreed-upon medium tires, leading to high tire degradation and exposing the team's strategy to competitors.

Kimi Antonelli secured the victory at the event, while Verstappen noted that his RB22 car lacked the competitiveness required to match his rivals on the Austin circuit.
