Max Verstappen praises Robert Kubica's talent and Le Mans success

Max Verstappen has praised the talent of former Formula 1 driver Robert Kubica, stating that the Polish driver was ‘destined for even greater things’ in the sport before a life-threatening rally accident in 2011.

Verstappen, speaking ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, noted that Kubica was regarded as one of the most exciting talents on the grid during his early career. Although the accident interrupted a trajectory that reportedly included a 2012 contract with Ferrari, Kubica eventually returned to F1 in 2019 with Williams.

Following his F1 return, Kubica transitioned to endurance racing. Verstappen expressed his admiration for Kubica’s recent success in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), specifically highlighting his victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Ferrari as a ‘dream’ achievement.
