Max Verstappen to face 100 competitors in Silverstone karting challenge
Four-time Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen will participate in a unique karting challenge titled ‘Max vs 100’ on September 16 in Silverstone, United Kingdom. The event, organized by Red Bull, features Verstappen starting from the back of a 101-kart grid, where he must attempt to overtake 100 competitors within a set timeframe.
The diverse field of competitors includes a mix of professional athletes, streamers, content creators, and fans. Confirmed participants include ultramarathoner Arda Saatçi, basketball specialist Chris ‘Lethal Shooter’ Matthews, mountain bike freestyler Matt Jones, and streamers such as TheGrefg, Caedrel, and TheDonato.
Designed as a high-production entertainment spectacle, the race will be broadcast globally via Disney+ and the ESPN app. The broadcast will feature cinematic aerial footage, video game-inspired graphics, and real-time data. It will also allow viewers to hear direct communication between Verstappen and other competitors. The event will be presented by British comedian Mo Gilligan and will not have a live in-person audience at the Silverstone track.
