Max Verstappen wins Silverstone karting challenge against 100 rivals
Max Verstappen won the ‘Max vs 100’ karting challenge held at Silverstone, an event organized by Red Bull. Starting from the 101st position on a specially designed track, the four-time Formula 1 world champion successfully overtook all 100 competitors in just 13 to 14 laps, completing the task in approximately 35 minutes.
The field of 100 opponents consisted of a diverse mix of professional athletes, content creators, streamers, celebrities, and fans. Under the competition rules, any driver overtaken by Verstappen was automatically eliminated from the race. To ensure fairness, all participants used identical karts with standardized weights, using ballast to equalize lighter drivers.
The event featured strategic elements, such as a ‘shortcut’ rule where competitors could use a specific section of the track during the first half of the race, while Verstappen was permitted to use it during the second half. The challenge was broadcast live globally via Disney+ and ESPN.
