Max Verstappen to face 100 rivals in Red Bull ‘Max vs 100’ karting event

Red Bull has announced details for the ‘Max vs 100’ event, a unique go-karting challenge featuring Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen. Scheduled for September 17, 2026, at the Silverstone Circuit in the UK, the event will see Verstappen start from the back of the field against 100 rivals, including content creators, celebrities, and top fans.

Verstappen will have 30 laps to overtake all competitors. A specific rule dictates that a rival is eliminated once the rear of Verstappen’s kart is ahead of their front. To add a psychological element, Verstappen will have direct radio contact with all 100 rivals during the race. Additionally, each driver is permitted a single ‘shortcut’ on the track, though Verstappen can only use his in the second half of the race, while others must use theirs in the first half.

Among the participants is Hong Kong content creator Yau Hok-sau, who has reportedly undergone intensive karting training for the event. The race will take place on a custom-designed kart track built within the Silverstone Circuit grounds.
