Max Verstappen wins Singapore Grand Prix amid Red Bull resurgence
Max Verstappen has secured a dominant victory at the Singapore Grand Prix, converting pole position into a win that has placed him in a strong position to finish second in the drivers' championship. Following the win, Verstappen is currently 17 points behind George Russell in the battle for the runner-up spot, trailing championship leader Kimi Antonelli.
Verstappen addressed the technical evolution of the Red Bull car, noting that the recent resurgence is driven by upgrades, whereas last year's late-season momentum was primarily due to unlocking the existing potential of the RB21 through setup adjustments. He highlighted that the current car and the engine present different challenges compared to previous iterations.
The victory also marked a notable moment for Verstappen's relationship with race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase, who joined him on the podium. This follows Red Bull's earlier confirmation that Lambiase will depart the team to become McLaren's chief racing officer.
