Max von der Groeben reflects on his career breakthrough

Actor Max von der Groeben recently reflected on the pivotal week in January 2013 that launched his career during an appearance on the podcast ‘Wie geht's? Mit Robin Gosens’.

Von der Groeben described a series of rapid emotional shifts, beginning with the disappointment of being rejected by a drama school in Essen. However, his fortunes changed within days when he attended the Golden Camera awards as an agent's companion and unexpectedly won the award for best newcomer.

Following this success, he secured a place at a drama school in Munich and met director Bora Dagtekin at the Berlinale. This meeting led to his breakout role as Danger in the comedy ‘Fack ju Göhte’.
