Max Weinberg joins King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard at Forest Hills Stadium

During a performance at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens on August 21, the Australian psych-rock band King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard featured a surprise appearance by Max Weinberg. The E Street Band drummer joined the group as a second drummer alongside regular drummer Michael Cavanagh for an extended version of the song ‘Hot Water’.

Max Weinberg filled in for his son, Jay Weinberg, a longtime collaborator of the band and former Slipknot drummer, who was unable to perform due to commitments in Nashville. The appearance continues a tradition of Jay Weinberg guesting with the band.

The concert was part of a three-night residency at the venue, which included rock shows and an electronic rave set. This run follows the recent release of the band's 28th studio album, ‘Alien Metal’.
