North Macedonia: Political leaders debate judicial exams and diaspora ties

In North Macedonia, political leaders are addressing key domestic and international issues. Maxim Dimitrievski, president of the ZNAM Movement, reaffirmed that the judicial exam must be conducted in the Macedonian language in accordance with the Constitution and national laws. Speaking in Kočani, Dimitrievski stated that there is no room for political bargaining regarding state sovereignty and the official language, calling these issues red lines for his party while in government.

Separately, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski addressed the Macedonian diaspora during a conference in Solingen, Germany. Mickoski emphasized that the diaspora is an inseparable part of the homeland and discussed economic growth, infrastructure projects, and energy challenges. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening communication and investment opportunities between the diaspora and North Macedonia.

Meanwhile, the opposition party SDSM has leveled allegations against Prime Minister Mickoski, claiming he is part of a political and media network influenced by regional leaders. The party alleges connections between VMRO-DPMNE and various media and telecommunications entities, though no evidence was provided to support claims of interference in prosecutorial actions.
