Maxim Van Gils claims stage win as Wout van Aert pulls out of Tour Auvergne‑Rhône‑Alpes

Belgian rider Maxim Van Gils won the sixth stage of the Tour Auvergne‑Rhône‑Alpes, marking a successful return after a February pelvis fracture. He outsprinted Norway's Tobias Johannessen and teammate Luke Tuckwell, who moved into the race lead after the stage.

Wout van Aert, also of Belgium, was absent from the start due to a lingering elbow injury sustained in a crash the previous week. His withdrawal was confirmed by his team, leaving the Red Bull‑Bora‑Hansgrohe squad to focus on Van Gils' victory and Tuckwell's new overall lead.
