Maxime Raynaud diagnosed with right patellar subluxation
Sacramento Kings center Maxime Raynaud has been diagnosed with a right patellar subluxation, a knee injury that is less severe than initially feared. The 23-year-old French player sustained the injury during a preseason game against the Golden State Warriors after collapsing following a play involving a screen.
The Kings franchise announced that they will re-evaluate Raynaud’s status in two weeks. While the injury will sideline the All-Rookie big man for the foreseeable future, the team is expected to take a cautious approach to his recovery.
To manage the rotation in Raynaud’s absence, the Kings may look toward small-ball options or increased minutes for players such as Dylan Cardwell, Precious Achiuwa, Ben Simmons, and Jonathan Mogbo to support starter Domantas Sabonis.
