Maximilian Fürtbauer wins Young Entrepreneur Award in Gmunden

The Junge Wirtschaft OÖ (JWOÖ) has awarded the 2026 Young Entrepreneur Award, recognizing nine successful companies across three categories for their contributions to the Upper Austrian economy.

In the ‘Regionenrocker’ category, Maximilian Fürtbauer from the Gmunden district secured first place. His company, Fürtbauer Spengler- und Dachdecker GmbH based in Laakirchen, is a fourth-generation family business operating since 1929. The firm specializes in traditional craftsmanship combined with modern innovations, such as customized insulation solutions.

WKOÖ President Doris Hummer highlighted the importance of young entrepreneurs in driving progress and job creation in the region. In the first half of 2026 alone, 3,699 individuals in Upper Austria chose to pursue self-employment.
