Maximilian Krah visits Northern Cyprus to discuss international isolation

German Member of Parliament Maximilian Krah, representing the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, conducted visits to Northern Cyprus to observe the region's challenges firsthand. During his trip, Krah met with students and faculty at Bahçeşehir Cyprus University and officials at the Northern Cyprus Chamber of Industry (KTSO).

Krah addressed the international isolation faced by the Turkish Cypriot community, specifically highlighting restrictions on direct trade, international flights, and participation in global sporting and cultural events. He emphasized that the constructive diplomatic approach of the Turkish Cypriot side deserves fair recognition from the international community.

In discussions with industrial leaders, the impact of economic and social isolations on the local economy and the migration of qualified youth was noted. Krah stated that his goal is to bring these issues to the attention of the German and European public to increase visibility regarding the constraints placed on the region.
