Maximiliano Ferraro denounces lack of transparency in Congressional Budget Office oversight
Argentine Deputy Maximiliano Ferraro of the Coalición Cívica has denounced a lack of transparency regarding the Congressional Budget Office (OPC) and its oversight commission. Ferraro raised concerns over the decision to hold meetings of the Bicameral Supervision Commission in unconventional locations and the refusal to broadcast these sessions live or include them in official agendas.
Ferraro argued that the secrecy surrounding these meetings contradicts the spirit of the OPC and introduces ‘dangerous opacity’ into the legislative process. He specifically questioned the actions of Senator Agustín Monteverde and Deputy Bertie Benegas Lynch, noting that unlike other parliamentary committees, these sessions are not accessible to the press or the public. These criticisms come as the 2027 budget discussions approach.
