Maximino Pérez honored in Cuenca for bullring management

Maximino Pérez, the manager of the Cuenca bullring, has been awarded the second edition of the ‘Patrimonio Tauromaquia Ciudad de Cuenca’ prize. The award, presented by the Círculo Taurino de Cuenca, recognizes Pérez for his fundamental role in the significant growth and management of the venue.

As the bullring celebrates its centenary, Cuenca Mayor Darío Dolz announced that the city will hold formal celebrations for the milestone. These commemorations will include honors for illustrious bullfighters Curro Fuentes and Luis Algara ‘El Estudiante’. Additionally, the city council is set to approve Pérez’s appointment as an ‘Hijo Adoptivo’ (Adopted Son) of Cuenca.

During the event, special mention was also given to Tomás and Eleu González of the Ganadería Alicia Chico. Mayor Dolz noted the strong local following for bullfighting and confirmed plans for five days of ‘vaquillas’ next year.
