Maximos Charakopoulos commemorates October 28th in Larissa

Maximos Charakopoulos, General Secretary of the New Democracy Parliamentary Group, represented the Greek government and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during commemorations for the October 28, 1940, national holiday in Larissa.

Following a religious service at the Cathedral of Saint Achillios and the laying of wreaths at the fallen soldiers' monument, Charakopoulos observed student and military parades. In a statement, he emphasized that the spirit of 1940 should serve as a guide for the present, noting the importance of national unity, strong armed forces, and diplomatic engagement in the face of regional instability and revisionist pressures from eastern neighbors.
