Maxon integrates AI assistant support into Cinema 4D via MCP
Maxon has introduced Model Context Protocol (MCP) support for its Cinema 4D software, allowing users to integrate AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT directly into their creative workflows. The new MCP server enables artists to use natural language instructions to automate repetitive and technical tasks, including scene organization, object and material variations, multi-pass render preparation, camera tracking, rigging, and UV mapping.
The implementation is designed to keep the artist in control of the creative process. All actions are performed using native Cinema 4D tools on the user’s local machine, and the MCP server is turned off by default, requiring manual activation. This setup allows creators to review, refine, or undo any AI-generated results within the software. The feature is available at no additional cost in Cinema 4D version 2026.4 or later on Windows and macOS.
