Maxus launches new T70 pickup in Chile, its first international market

Maxus unveiled the second‑generation T70 pickup at the Teatro Municipal in Santiago, marking Chile as the brand’s first international launch site. The vehicle is equipped with a 2.5‑litre SAIC turbo‑diesel engine delivering 221 hp and 520 Nm of torque, a payload capacity of over one tonne, and a lifetime warranty on the drivetrain.

Juan Miguel Casar, manager of Maxus Chile, said the model is aimed at heavy‑duty sectors such as mining, construction, energy, logistics and services, and highlighted Chile’s strategic importance within Maxus’s global strategy. The T70 will be offered in both 4×2 and 4×4 configurations, with six‑speed manual and eight‑speed automatic transmissions.
