Maxwell Football Club names Shaun Alexander Award watch list

The Maxwell Football Club has announced its preseason watch list for the ninth annual Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award. The list features 37 players from across the FBS.

Among the honorees are Ole Miss wide receiver Caleb Cunningham and Tennessee quarterback Faizon Brandon. Cunningham, a highly-rated five-star prospect, appeared in three games during the 2025 season. Brandon, who secured the starting quarterback position at Tennessee during preseason camp, was a top-ranked recruit out of North Carolina.

The selection process will continue with the announcement of 14 semifinalists on November 4, followed by five finalists on December 2. The winner will be revealed on December 28, with the formal presentation scheduled for the 90th Maxwell Awards ceremony in March 2027.
