Maxx Crosby leads Raiders defense during joint practices with Texans

Maxx Crosby has demonstrated a significant impact during the Las Vegas Raiders' joint practices with the Houston Texans. Despite sitting out the preseason opener against the Arizona Cardinals due to a recent injury, Crosby recorded multiple sacks against Texans starter CJ Stroud during Tuesday's session. His presence on the field appeared to benefit other defensive players, specifically Kwity Paye, who recorded multiple sacks and pressures during the practice.

In addition to his on-field performance, Crosby is serving as a mentor to rookie pass rusher Keyron Crawford. Crawford noted that Crosby’s dedication and intentionality are qualities he is actively studying to help his own transition to the NFL.

Speculation regarding Crosby's long-term future with the Raiders persists, with some analysts suggesting he could be a high-value trade target if the team struggles early in the season. Last season, Crosby recorded 10 sacks and 53 total pressures while playing through a torn meniscus.
