Maxx Crosby set for limited return at Raiders training camp under new defensive scheme
Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby said he will return to training camp on a "slight buildup" and will be "slightly limited in the beginning" as he continues recovery from eight surgeries over seven seasons. He expects to increase his workload gradually, aiming to be fully ready for the preseason opener and later joint practices with the Houston Texans.
Former Raiders linebacker Kirk Morrison highlighted that the Raiders' new defensive coordinator Rob Leonard favors aggressive blitzing, which could allow Crosby to reach a higher performance level. Morrison said the scheme will let Crosby "go to a different level" and that the revamped defense is designed to maximize his pass‑rushing abilities.
