Maya Boyd cast as Storm in MCU X-Men reboot

Actress Maya Boyd has been announced as the new Storm for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The reveal took place during a Disney Entertainment panel at the D23 event in Anaheim.

Boyd, a 23-year-old Broadway performer with credits including ‘& Juliet’ and ‘Merrily We Roll Along’, will portray the mutant Ororo Munroe in the upcoming X-Men reboot, which is scheduled for release in 2028. She joins a cast that includes Sadie Sink, Kit Connor, Christopher Abbott, and Adam Driver.

This casting follows previous portrayals of the character by Halle Berry and Alexandra Shipp. Alison Sealy-Smith, who voiced the character in the X-Men: The Animated Series, publicly welcomed Boyd to the franchise.
