Maya launches nature-inspired Bukad Card made from recycled plastic
Maya has launched the Bukad Card, a special-edition payment card featuring designs inspired by Philippine nature. The artwork, created by Filipino illustrator Raxenne Maniquiz, draws from the concept of ‘bukadkad’, or a flower in bloom, incorporating local flora and wildlife.
This launch coincides with Maya’s transition to manufacturing all newly produced wallet cards from 100% recycled plastic rather than virgin plastic. The company stated that the shift to recycled materials does not affect the security, durability, or functionality of the cards.
The Visa-powered card is priced at ₱350 and offers 1% cashback on in-store and online purchases within the Philippines. As part of a limited-time promotion, the nature-inspired design is also featured on a Bukad scarf, which will be available at the PURVEYR Fair at the World Trade Center Tent on September 12–13.
