Maya Manolova-Naydenova appointed head of Bulgaria's CCP
The Bulgarian Government has appointed Maya Manolova-Naydenova as the new Chairperson of the Commission for Consumer Protection (CCP). She will serve the remainder of the current commission's mandate.
Manolova-Naydenova succeeds Alexander Kolyachev, who had been serving as the acting chairperson. Kolyachev will continue to serve as a member of the commission. The leadership change follows the departure of former chairperson Maria Filipova, who was elected as Deputy Ombudsman of Bulgaria in September 2025.
The CCP is a specialized state body under the Ministry of Economy, Investment, and Industry. It is responsible for enforcing consumer protection laws, monitoring the internal market for unfair commercial practices, and ensuring the safety of goods and services.
