Maya the Husky shows resilience after rescue from neglect

Maya, a five-year-old Siberian Husky cross, has demonstrated remarkable resilience after being rescued from severe neglect in Richmond, Virginia. The Richmond Animal Care & Control service discovered the dog living outdoors in hostile conditions, where a chain had become deeply embedded in the flesh of her neck.

Following urgent surgical procedures to treat her wounds, Maya has shown surprising agility and energy at the shelter despite her history of trauma. Her recovery and spirited behavior are currently aiding her efforts toward finding a new home through adoption.
