Maya Weug seeks racing seat after difficult season

Maya Weug, a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, has expressed her frustration regarding the lack of racing opportunities this season. Despite finishing second in the F1 Academy standings last year, Weug has been unable to secure a permanent seat in any championship due to circumstances beyond her control.

While the F1 Academy champion receives a fully funded seat for the following year, the runner-up does not receive the same guarantee. Weug has participated in three races within the Belcar series with ART Racing, where she achieved a podium finish in her GT car debut, but her scheduled participation in the 24 Hours of Zolder was cancelled, leaving her currently without any upcoming races.

Currently, Weug remains part of the Ferrari Academy and has been assisting in the preparation of driver Alba Larsen. She stated on social media that while she has grown personally and learned much from engineers, her primary goal remains to return to competitive racing at the highest level.
