Mayawati announces BSP will contest elections alone, sidelines Aakash Anand

During a high-level Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) meeting in Lucknow, party chief Mayawati announced a strategic shift for the organization, stating that the BSP will contest all upcoming local and national elections independently rather than through coalitions. She emphasized that the party's mission remains focused on empowering the Bahujan Samaj and the oppressed classes through direct political power.

In a significant leadership development, Mayawati addressed the role of Aakash Anand within the party. She stated that while Anand is permitted to work within the organization, he will not be assigned any major responsibilities at this time, citing a need for him to gain more ‘political maturity’. This decision marks a recurring pattern in the party's internal leadership dynamics regarding Anand's succession and role.

The meeting also highlighted shifts in party presence, noting that while Anand was not in attendance, his younger brother, Ishan Anand, was present at the session.
