Mayawati assigns key roles to Satish Chandra Mishra for UP elections

Mayawati, leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), has assigned significant new responsibilities to National General Secretary and senior advocate Satish Chandra Mishra in preparation for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

Mishra will now oversee the party’s legal and media affairs, as well as all matters related to the Election Commission. Mayawati emphasized via social media that Mishra will play a critical role in the upcoming electoral cycle.

The move is viewed by analysts as a strategic attempt to revive the party’s ‘social engineering’ formula used during its 2007 success, which focused on building an alliance between Dalit and Brahmin communities. Mayawati stated that the party has already begun the process of selecting candidates and is working to strengthen its grassroots presence across all sections of society.
