Mayawati honors Kanshi Ram and reviews election preparations

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati paid floral tributes to the party’s founder and Dalit icon, Kanshi Ram, on the 20th anniversary of his death, observed as Parinirvan Diwas.

In addition to the memorial, Mayawati chaired meetings to review the party’s preparations for upcoming Assembly General Elections in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. The discussions included an in-depth review of voter list statuses following the Election Commission’s SIR revision. The BSP reported that approximately 9 lakh voters have allegedly been removed from the voter list, and the party has issued instructions to reorganize committees down to the polling booth level to ensure the inclusion of youth, women, and marginalized sections.

During these reviews, the BSP also criticized the Uttarakhand government’s policies, alleging they favor big capitalists and wealthy industrialists over public welfare.
