Maybank reports 2.4% increase in Q2 net profit to RM2.69 billion

Maybank reported a 2.4 per cent increase in net profit for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026, reaching RM2.69 billion compared to RM2.62 billion in the same period last year. The growth was supported by lower net impairment provisions on loans and higher non-interest income.

Despite the rise in profit, group revenue decreased by 5.8 per cent to RM16.07 billion. The bank's first-half net profit stood at RM5.17 billion, a slight decrease of 0.9 per cent from the previous year. Overhead expenses fell by 2.5 per cent to RM3.68 billion, driven by lower spending on staff, marketing, and administration.

The board declared a single-tier first interim dividend of RM0.31 per share, up from RM0.30 a year earlier, representing a dividend payout ratio of 72.5 per cent.
