Maybourne Hotel Group restructures ownership and appoints new Chairman

Maybourne Hotel Group has undergone a significant corporate restructuring and leadership change. The group’s Qatari owners have divided the multi-billion-pound portfolio into separate operational and asset holdings.

Under the new agreement, Regis Maybourne (UK) Ltd holds sole ownership of the Maybourne operating brand and manages all hotels. This entity also owns the physical real estate for Claridge’s in London, The Maybourne Riviera in France, and The Maybourne Beverly Hills in the US. Conversely, Constellation Hotels, representing Qatar’s state sovereign wealth fund, now holds full real estate ownership for The Connaught, The Berkeley, and The Emory in London, as well as the upcoming Saint Germain in Paris and a development in Marrakech.

In conjunction with this restructuring, José Silva has been appointed as Chairman of Maybourne Hotel Group. Silva, formerly the CEO of Jumeirah Group and a long-time leader at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, will oversee the group’s next phase of global growth. CEO Marc Socker remains in charge of day-to-day management, with the company stating that operations across all properties will remain seamless and unaffected by the ownership split.
