Maye Musk, the 78-year-old mother of Elon Musk, has shared details about her minimalist lifestyle in an interview with the New York Post. During the promotion of her new book, ‘Timeless: The Art of Reinvention and Resilience at Any Age’, she revealed that she often sleeps in a garage when visiting her son at the SpaceX Starbase facility in Texas.
Musk stated that she feels comfortable with simple accommodations, noting that having a roof over one's head is a luxury. She attributed this mindset to her upbringing camping in the Kalahari Desert. She also mentioned that until the age of 60, she frequently slept on friends' couches.
In her book, Musk discusses her experiences as a single mother raising three children and building a career as a model and dietitian. She also touches upon her past marriage to Errol Musk, whom she described as physically and emotionally abusive.
