Maynard James Keenan undergoes hip replacement surgery
Maynard James Keenan, the vocalist for Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer, underwent hip replacement surgery on August 26. The 62-year-old musician shared the news via social media, explaining that the procedure was necessary following a hip injury sustained while touring in Europe with A Perfect Circle in July.
Keenan stated that he chose to undergo the surgery immediately to ensure sufficient recovery time before his upcoming tour commitments. He plans to perform approximately 27 shows across 18 different countries between September and December. He noted that canceling was not an option due to the travel and lodging commitments made by fans.
His first scheduled appearance this fall is a headlining performance at the Louder Than Life festival in Kentucky on September 20.
