Mayo Clinic AI predicts meningioma recurrence; Siemens Healthineers adds perfusion imaging for stroke

Researchers at Mayo Clinic used a deep‑learning model to analyze routine H&E‑stained pathology slides and predict the risk of meningioma recurrence. The tool, validated on data from 672 patients and published in The Lancet Digital Health, could provide molecular‑level prognostic information without costly DNA‑methylation testing, potentially guiding post‑surgical treatment decisions.

Siemens Healthineers announced a partnership with Cercare Medical to integrate cone‑beam CT perfusion (CBCT‑P) into angiography suites for acute stroke care. The combined solution delivers real‑time perfusion maps and metabolic biomarkers, enabling clinicians to assess tissue viability and streamline treatment without moving patients to separate imaging rooms. The technology was developed with input from the Inselspital in Bern and is being tested in several leading hospitals.
