Mayor Antonio Astiazarán rolls out community forum and road resurfacing in Sonora
Mayor Antonio “Toño” Astiazarán of Hermosillo hosted a meeting of civil organizations in San Ignacio Río Muerto under the Sonora Con Todo platform. The gathering brought together volunteers and local groups active in education, health, environment and social assistance, with the mayor highlighting the value of citizen participation and teamwork for improving community welfare.
On the same day the mayor inaugurated the repaving of Avenida Rebeico, a 17‑block project that will benefit more than 32,000 residents of the Miguel Hidalgo, Carmen Serdán, Jacinto López, Eusebio Kino, Heriberto Castillo and Villa Sonora neighborhoods. The work, funded with 2.8 million pesos of municipal resources, is part of a broader program to rehabilitate 18 streets in Hermosillo. Astiazarán said, “Nos propusimos arreglar 18 vialidades en la ciudad…”, while a local school representative thanked the mayor for the improvements.
