Mayor Beto Granados expands municipal services in Matamoros

Mayor Beto Granados led a "Matamoros Informa" and "Martes en tu Colonia" session at the Mundo Nuevo Convention Center, presenting results from the tourism, health, public services and environment secretariats. He highlighted the ExpoFeria Matamoros 2026 draw of over 143,000 visitors, announced the July‑August Military Exhibition "La Gran Fuerza de México", and introduced the Small League Series starting 5 July. The administration also reported cleaning achievements: 1,098 green spaces rehabilitated, 24,057 tonnes of trash collected from January to June, and the collection and shredding of more than 15,900 tires to curb pollution.

Within the same program, the State Treasury's fiscal office set up a weekly module at Mundo Nuevo offering vehicle‑related services, including license issuance, plate payments and registration regularization. Fees range from MXN 3,990 for older vehicles to MXN 5,990 for 2012‑2017 models, and MXN 1,994 for a permanent driver’s license. The initiative aims to limit trips to central offices and speed up paperwork for Matamoros residents.
