Nuevo Laredo Mayor presents second government report
Nuevo Laredo Mayor Carmen Lilia Canturosas Villarreal presented her Second Government Report, highlighting the total liquidation of a 580 million peso historical debt originally scheduled for 2032. The administration reported a total investment of over 7.445 billion pesos in public works, resulting in more than 1,690 completed projects.
Key infrastructure achievements include the rehabilitation of over 60 kilometers of sanitary and storm drainage systems, with an investment exceeding 2.5 billion pesos. The report also noted improvements in healthcare through the expansion of the UNE clinic network and various social programs.
Tamaulipas Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya attended the ceremony, noting that combined state and federal investment in Nuevo Laredo has reached approximately 8.9 billion pesos. He emphasized the city's strategic importance as a logistics hub, citing upcoming projects such as the modernization of Bridge III, the Saltillo-Nuevo Laredo Train, and its role as the seat of the National Customs Agency.
