Mayor Eduardo Gattás Oversees Anti‑Alcohol Checkpoints in Victoria, Mexico

Mayor Eduardo Gattás Báez of Victoria, Tamaulipas, personally supervised a night‑time anti‑alcohol traffic checkpoint on the Calzada Luis Caballero after numerous citizen complaints of abuse by municipal traffic agents. Accompanied by city secretary Hugo Reséndez Silva, he inspected the testing equipment and procedures, emphasizing that the municipal government will not tolerate misconduct.

Gattás announced that he will continue weekend monitoring of the checkpoints, working with staff from the municipal comptroller’s office and the State Human Rights Commission to ensure the operations remain preventive and protect citizens’ safety.
