Mayor Emil Boc celebrates first home‑grown tomatoes

Cluj‑Napoca mayor Emil Boc posted photos on Facebook of the first tomatoes he harvested from his own garden. He highlighted the personal satisfaction of eating produce that results from his own labour, noting that “no store can offer this satisfaction”. Boc used the experience to draw a parallel with community development, stressing that lasting results require time, care and perseverance, just as a garden does. He concluded by urging citizens to keep planting – in gardens, in communities and in people’s hearts – so that today’s efforts become tomorrow’s harvest.

The mayor’s reflections were shared in Romanian, emphasizing the value of patience and hard work, and were accompanied by images of the modest but cherished tomatoes.
