Mayor Emily Ann Ramos Highlights First Half of 2026 in Mountain View
Emily Ann Ramos assumed office as mayor of Mountain View on Jan. 13, 2026. In her first seven months she has overseen council actions on several crises, including unauthorized access to the city’s license‑plate cameras and a contaminated water main that left dozens without safe drinking water.
The city is also contesting federal grant restrictions tied to Trump‑administration spending cuts, joining a lawsuit to protect its funding. Meanwhile, the council approved two environmental initiatives—one to boost biodiversity and urban tree canopy, another to expand parks, trails and open space. Mountain View broke ground on an affordable‑housing project that will replace a downtown parking lot, and it placed a hotel‑tax measure on the November ballot to fund city projects amid concerns of voter fatigue and economic strain.
