Mayor Enrique Galindo Ceballos: Municipal salary hikes were pre‑budgeted
Mayor Enrique Galindo Ceballos said the salary increases granted to unionized municipal workers were already accounted for in the annual budget, so they will not strain the city’s finances. The adjustments range from 14.7% for the lowest‑paid staff to 3% for higher‑level employees, with an overall average above 8%; first‑ and second‑level officials receive no raise. The increases are retroactive to January, and a 17% rise in labor benefits was also approved.
Galindo emphasized that the cost of the raises was calculated from the start of the fiscal year, allowing the administration to guarantee the necessary resources and improve the economic conditions of the operational personnel.
