Mayor Frederico Paes receives Tiradentes Medal and advances historic center revamp in Campos

Mayor Frederico Paes of Campos dos Goytacazes was presented with the Tiradentes Medal by state deputy Rosenverg Reis, the highest honor awarded by the Rio de Janeiro Assembly. Paes said the award belongs to the people of Campos and pledged to elevate the city as the “capital of the interior” of the state.

The municipal administration also moved forward with the "Centro + Seguro" program, targeting the removal of obsolete aerial cables in the historic downtown. Representatives from the Enel concessionaire, local business groups and city officials met at the Chamber of Shopkeepers to outline a plan that includes a 30‑day notice to telecom operators, followed by the cutting of unregistered or unsafe lines. The initiative aims to improve visual clutter, boost tourism, preserve heritage sites and stimulate the local economy.

Both actions reflect Paes' focus on public recognition and urban revitalization for Campos residents.
