Hidroven inspects road sinkhole in Macho Muerto sector

Technical teams from Hidroven have conducted a field inspection in the Macho Muerto sector of the Avenida Juan Bautista Arismendi to address a road sinkhole. The inspection revealed structural failures in the underlying pavement layers, caused by water saturation and soil erosion from leaking sewage and rainwater pipes. Persistent sediment and waste accumulation in the discharge canal have also reduced hydraulic flow, increasing pressure on adjacent water transport pipes.

Hidroven will implement a phased intervention plan, which includes exploratory excavations to locate specific fractures or leaks, replacement of the affected water/sanitary collector, and the cleaning of the concrete canal to restore hydraulic flow. Additionally, the team will replace contaminated soil with technical granular base material to stabilize the area.
