Mayor Javier Díaz launches new DIF health center in Saltillo's Morelos neighborhood
Mayor Javier Díaz González of Saltillo broke ground on a new DIF health and psychology center in the Morelos colonia. The project, voted the top proposal in the eastern sector of the Participa Saltillo program, will be built with over one million pesos on a 41.8‑square‑metre site. It will provide free basic‑medicine prescriptions through a partnership with Farmacias del Ahorho and offer medical and psychological services to residents who need them most. The initiative was selected through participatory budgeting, receiving the most votes from citizens who submitted 239 proposals and cast 5,799 votes this cycle. Díaz highlighted the community‑driven nature of the work and the collaboration with the municipal DIF and local officials.
The mayor was accompanied by his wife Luly López Naranjo, honorary president of DIF Saltillo, and local officials praised the project as evidence of the administration's commitment to health and citizen participation.
