Mayor José Luis Chacón Méndez Leads Cozumel Clean‑up Initiative

On July 29, 2026, Cozumel’s municipal president José Luis Chacón Méndez supervised the "Juntos Limpiamos Cozumel" operation in the Flamingos I and II neighborhoods of Quintana Roo. Workers installed a new speed‑bump on the road between Patos and Garzas streets, cleared a clandestine trash dump by removing roughly ten truckloads of waste—including appliances, mattresses and assorted solid debris—and restored a drainage well to reduce flood risk. The team also repainted and repaired a local basketball court and performed general park clean‑up, aiming to improve public spaces for families.
