Mayor Julio Zamora pledges further development for Tigre on 220th anniversary of Liniers landing

The municipality of Tigre marked the 220th anniversary of Santiago de Liniers' 1806 landing with a ceremony at Plaza Daniel M. Cazón and the Museum of the Reconquista. Mayor Julio Zamora, together with Education and Social Promotion Secretary Gisela Zamora, led the event, unveiling a commemorative plaque and offering floral tributes before the bust of Liniers.

In his speech, Zamora linked the historic landing to the district’s present challenges, emphasizing that "we still have a lot of work ahead" and calling for unity to continue transforming the community. He highlighted the landing as a catalyst for Argentina’s independence movement and announced ongoing municipal projects aimed at improving Tigre.

The ceremony featured participation from local school students, the Instituto de Estudios Históricos de Tigre, and municipal officials, and concluded with the singing of the Argentine National Anthem.
