Mayor Leandro Vilela and Goiás Assembly launch free services program in Aparecida de Goiânia

The 51st edition of the "Deputados Aqui" outreach programme was held in the Cidade Vera Cruz neighbourhood of Aparecida de Goiânia, Brazil, on 3 May. Mayor Leandro Vilela and Assembleia Legislativa de Goiás president Bruno Peixoto opened a large pavilion offering free health, assistance, legal, professional‑training, beauty, child‑recreation and animal‑care services. Attendees received medical, dental and eye exams, consultations, vocational courses, haircuts and even pet neutering, as well as a communal lunch.

Vilela highlighted the partnership between the municipal government and the state assembly, noting that the municipal hospital, run by Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, now performs the highest number of elective surgeries among public hospitals in Brazil. Peixoto said the initiative has already assisted about 400,000 people across more than 100 municipalities in Goiás.

Hundreds of residents used the one‑stop service centre, praising the convenience and the free provision of multiple public services in a single location.
