Mayor Leo Bezerra transfers historic building to Paraíba Court of Justice

Mayor Leo Bezerra of Paraíba signed a document on Monday morning, the 27th, that transferred ownership of the property housing the Escola Superior da Magistratura (ESMA) and the Corregedoria‑Geral de Justiça to the Tribunal de Justiça da Paraíba. The ceremony took place at the Cartório Eunápio Torres in the Altiplano neighbourhood and was attended by Tribunal president Justice Fred Coutinho and municipal attorney‑general Bruno Nóbrega.

The mayor said the transfer fulfills Law No. 15.869 of 18 June 2026, previously sanctioned by his administration, and will regularize the court’s patrimony, strengthen legal security and preserve the building’s historic records. He also announced a planting program of three thousand trees as part of broader urban renewal efforts in the city’s historic centre.
